Carrollton, Georgia, is home to many historic commercial buildings with exciting histories and beautiful design.  Many need a little tender loving care to be brought back to the glory of years past.  Upon moving to Carrollton in 2001, I took on the renovation of one such building that my husband Tom and I purchased.  Over the past hundred years, it has housed a variety of storefront businesses.  Today, our two businesses occupy the first floor, Tom Nielsen Fine Art-an art studio and gallery showcasing Tom's work as well as The Design Group.  On the second floor you’ll find our loft apartment, which makes the work commute take about a minute!

I strive to offer clients a finished product that will please them. My team offers a variety of services to cover any design need you may have. We can help with floor coverings, making options such as wood, tile, cork or vinyls available for your design project. If your needs include window treatments, we can help you find the perfect plantation shutters or blinds, whether you’re in the market for wood, woven or faux. Your design may only consist of panels, full draperies, or shades. If so, we have beautiful fabric choices here at the shop as well as from many sources in Atlanta to ensure we find the perfect look to suit your home or business. 

When it comes to furniture, I’m well versed in giving what you already have a lift, using only the best upholsterers. If it turns out that what you really need is an overall change with new furniture and lighting, I can help direct you in finding pieces that are unique and reflect your personality, keeping you smiling for years to come. 

Sometimes a new color on your walls can provide the very change you need!  I’m here to offer you a paint plan for just one room or for your entire home or business.  My team can then provide excellent painters that will get the job done immediately or you can take on the project yourself, completing it in your own time frame.
